TSST CDRW/DVD code 39 and 19!
Got a Trojan virus about a month ago. Worked with the Virus team to clean it. At first infection my CD drive became unmounted by the virus. I tried to fix it at the time and got the message:
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupt or missing. Code 39" I decided to take care of the virus first. After ridding of the virus (according to the Virus team here on TSF) I have returned to trying to install my CD drive. Now I get a yellow exclaim on the device in Device manager and the message says: "Windows cannot start the hardware device because it's configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. Code 19." I have 1- Uninstalled and "Scan for hardware changes" at least a dozen times. 2- Loaded the XP_CD-DVD-fix.exe from dougknow.com. (and rebooted) 3- Downloaded a new driver from DELL. None of these have fixed the problem. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. My System= Inspirion 1501 w/ AMD Athlon 64 x2 TK-53 TSST CDRW/DVD TSL462D optical drive Windows XP home OS |

Try removing the filters manually instead of using the auto fix.

Re: TSST CDRW/DVD code 39 and 19!
MakinU- There were no files with the name or comment "upper" -or "lower" filters in this folder. I have once again tried "uninstall" and reboot. The drive will be found ... but then it gets the code 19 error msg. Any other ideas?
