Angry USB Mouse

Hi,

I have a USB mouse and keyboard and the mouse is constantly disconnecting and reconnecting. Sometimes a bubble pops up reading "USB Device Not Recognized"

This is extremely annoying and makes it very hard for me to get anything thing done.

Thanks in advanced.

Re: USB Mouse

Hi, welcome to TSF

What make and model are the mouse and keyboard?

Are they wireless and using a USB receiver? If wireless, how far away is the receiver/cradle?

Are they connected directly to the computer or are you using a USB hub?

Have you tried another USB port?

Do you have any problems with any other USB devices?

Re: USB Mouse

I am here for the same EXACT problem. The mouse disconnects and reconnects, but mostly just stays disconnected. It will work for a good 30 minutes or more at times, then just stops, no sound or nothing, at that point I fiddle with the connection and it makes the jingle sound saying its connected then the other jingle sound saying its disconnected, and sometimes a notice pops up from the tray saying there is a problem with the USB device.

It is working right now, but cuts out every few minutes for a couple seconds....

Heres the details:

Dell Latitude D620 laptop. XP home sp3
Mouse:(brand new) Superior, USB optical, connected directly, tried all 4 ports, same problem.

My ipod touch connects just fine.

I suppose its a crappy mouse, you can find it for $6 online, but its got a cool blue and red led light inside. the blue light stays on when its not connected. the red one turns off.

Re: USB Mouse

Cordless telephones located near some wireless mice can cause interference also.
@clayclay
A $6 Mouse is bound to be "crappy".
