i have a kingston thumb drive and when i put it into my computer and try to open it it tells me to insert a disk into drive e can you tell me what that means? if its a bad sign does that mean all the information i had on there is gone? and is there any way to get it back? i only ask for help because the drive had pictures of both of my grandparents befor they passed away and someone stole the camera i had for the original pictures so any help would be appreciated

Re: thumb drive help?

Most likely the drive has failed. Thumb drives are handy tools but NOT dependable for storage. Try the drive in another PC. Do other USB devices work in your PC?

Re: thumb drive help?

PC Inspector Smart Recovery (freeware) should be able to recover your files from the USB stick.

If you don't get it working, contact Kingston and supply any nfo they request. There are some counterfeit Kingston drive's around.
