DVD burner problems

I recently purchased an internal dvd burner and the computer detects it, it runs any software I put in, the computer detects any disk I put in it, but none of my burning software detects it as a recording device, any ideas?

What is the model/ name/ brand ? Did you install the drivers that came with it ?

Have you tried updating the driver?
