Hi, welcome to TSF

Go to Start > Run > regedit, then go to File > Export to make a backup of the registry.

Remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters values from this registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Class \ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Reboot to complete.

Re: DVD Room Wont Load

Uninstall the optical drive in device manager. Windows will reinstall on reboot.
If that doesn't work, try this: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_d...cd_dvd_fix.htm
