moving cursor
My cursor has a life of its own. It keeps moving to the upper right corner and sometimes i cannot move it anymore. I have to put my laptop in standby mode so that i can use it. Anybody has any idea why this is happening? I have bought new mouse and the same problem occurs. Hope someone can help me on this. Thanks

Re: moving cursor
You can try this fix for the upper left movement - cam't hurt even though yours is going right; http://support.microsoft.com/kb/175400
edit: I also read where someone with that issue went into Control Panel, Mouse and under Pointer Options unchecked 'Enhance pointer precision'.

Re: moving cursor
If you're using an external mouse, have you disabled the laptop's touchpad?
Do you have any other devices plugged in, like a games controller or graphics tablet?

Re: moving cursor
What make/model is your laptop? Do you have the manual for it?
To disable the touchpad to avoid conflicts with the external mouse, go to Start > Control Panel > Mouse. There should be an option in there to either disable or reduce the sensitivity of the touchpad.
