Suprised no os+unable to install hard drive neither run killdisk on it!

so here is the problem, i got an old computer to repair for a friend but i can't figure out what is the problem cuz every hardware parts seems to work fine but the problem is, when i try to start killdisk to erase everything and install a new os, it cannot detect the hd at all, it only shows the floppy drive!
If anyone would know how to help please do so!

Assuming the Killdisk operation was successful, is the optical drive set as First Boot Device?
