usb device not recognized
In Windows XP, this message began appearing in a bubble, even when I have no usb deviced plugged in. Sometimes it tells me this as many as 20 times a minute, which is annoying as it makes that "boomp boomp" sound that it's supposed to make when I plug in a usb device. Then it makes the lower-pitched "boomp boomp" sound that it usually makes when I unplug a usb device. Then it stops doing this for several hours, before starting up again.
Why does it think I've got a bad usb device plugged in when all my ports are empty? Is there a way of disabling Windows bubble messages, or at least the sounds that accompany them? |
