[SOLVED] Screen goes blank, works again after sleeping

Hello!
I have been having this weird problem for a very long time and today I had it so I am seeking help.

Sometimes, when I start my computer (which is done very normally and quickly) and I start using Windows, the screen will go blank after a minute or two, sometimes 15 or more. I just work, and blank it goes.

It is not related to what software I am using, to how long the computer have been on or the moon phase. In 2 years, I have yet to find a single correlating reason that might cause it.

What do I do when it happens? I use the sleep button on the keyboard to put it to sleep and when I wake it up it's normal again. But it quickly goes blank, after 10sec to 2 min. This can go on for 30 minutes sometimes and it just stops by itself.

I've discovered that when it finally stops, it usually won't come back if I leaver the computer on. But this today, as an example, after working 8h straight yesterday without problem and leaving the machine on overnight, it started again, and has been going on for 30 minutes now, as I write this post... which is taking very long...

Any body experienced anything similar in their life? What in the world could be causing this?

I switched screens and it didn't change anything...

Thanks for any help!

Re: Screen goes blank, works again after sleeping

Hello dai, thanks for helping.

I have attached a hardware report made with HWiNFO32. I have omitted some part of it for practical reasons. If I avoided to much information, let me know. I also included a screenshot of the the sensors report. Let me know if this is not a good way to get you the information you need.

In summary:
Processor Name: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+
Video Card: ATI RADEON X700 (RV410 LE) [Diamond Multimedia Systems]
Motherboard Model: MSI MS-7125 K8N Neo4 Platinum/-FI/-FX
Motherboard Chipset: nVidia nForce4 (Crush CK8-04) + CK8-04 MCP

RAM:
row 0 and 1: Corsair CMX1024-3200C2
row 2 and 3: Corsair VS1GB400C3

Power supply:
Antec True Power Trio TP3-650 650W

Thanks for helping!

Re: Screen goes blank, works again after sleeping

I have more news on this.
Before I could change the battery, I installed a kmv switch, the Belkin Soho.

Since then I never had any problem. Now I wonder what effect the switch had to "solve" the problem...
