721MB video onto 700MB CD?
Does anyone know if there's a way that I can fit a 721MB video file onto a 700MB CD? I wonder if there's a way that I can compress the .avi file so that it remains in a playable form. I don't want to have to compress the file using winrar; I would like the file to be in playable format when it's on the CD. I'd be willing to sacrifice some of the video quality if need be.

Some cd burning programs will allow you to "overburn", that is, burn past the normal location where the lazer would stop. If I remember correctly, this could be dangerous to your burner, but I think some of the manufacturers will publish maximum burn capacities, and it will vary from disk to disk.
I have seen websites where people have burned 800mb disks with no problem. |

Use the Expert Features in Nero. I believe it's under File, Preferences "expert features'. This should allow for "overburning".

I routinely burn an extra 20-30mb onto 700mb CD's, especially when I'm making audio CD's for my car. I like to get as much as I can on the disk.
