Re: E-Machine won't completly boot
Having the same issue with my E-machine, just started the past couple days. I hibernate at the end of the evening, but the machine just shuts down and needs to be re-powered on next use. It boots through the text to the first scrolling load bar and shuts down. It is a dice roll whether running the safe/repair mode actually boots up. So far it seems once it is booted up, the machine runs fine. Would a faulty/failing power supply (my first guess) allow for the computer to stay running yet consistently shut down at that point of boot-up?

Re: E-Machine won't completly boot
and welcome to the ForumI moved your threrad so it does not hijack the one where it was posted. Hybernation causes many problems with XP . . unless it is a laptop, I would disable that and see if it will then shut dwon and restart ok.

Re: E-Machine won't completly boot
The PSU is a possibility. E-machines use very substandard PSU's and they are infamous for failure and taking Mobo's and CPU's with them. Replacing the PSU with a Seasonic or Corsair would certainly be a good investment.
