Keyboard Problems even after replacement. Multiple key strokes.
I have an HP Pavilion DV6000. Coffee was spilled onto the keyboard and it started acting weird. I would press the "G" key and it would type "GT" or if i press "H" it would type "HY" and vise versa "Y" would type "YH" and "T" would type "TG". I assumed replacing the keyboard would fix this but it didn't. I have a brand new keyboard with the exact same problem. I am assuming there is a motherboard problem where the keyboard connects in, but I am wondering if there is a solution to this? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Keyboard Problems even after replacement. Multiple key strokes.
HP was no help after 45 minutes on the phone they said my warranty was up and to pay $99 to extend it and they would take care of the problem. So i pay the $99, some foreign women who barely speaks English tells me to do a complete system restore and lose all my information. I own a computer store so I've done this hundreds of times before, and it was not necessary. I also tested the keyboard in Dos to make sure it wasn't a windows problem. After telling her all of this she tells me to restart the computer and press F11 then hit Full System Restore. "Ya she wasn't listening to me" Surprised? NO. SO i tell her to call me back the next day when the restore is done. Of course it didn't work. So she says ok you will need to send the computer in for repairs. FINALLY! Then she explains, "That will be an additional charge on your visa depending on the problem". "WHAT?!" I said. She explains that the $99 only covers her support over the phone. I paid her $99 to tell me to press F11 and restore my computer.. Gotta love HP! 2 more hours on the phone with a different person since she says a refund is not possible and no supervisor is around. Finally my case is escalated and I awaiting a call from someone higher up to issue a refund, wish me luck. Still stuck with this problem. Assuming it's the motherboard.

I am having a problem with identifing your pc. Everytime I look up that computer I get the specs for a laptop. After you say you bought a new keyboard I highly doubt that your pc is a laptop. Have you tried updating your keybaord drivers or perhaps plugging it into another usb port?

Re: Keyboard Problems even after replacement. Multiple key strokes.
It's been awhile but I see you still do not have this solved. I have one more possibly useless piece of advice for you. I remember one time taking apart my keyboard and putting it back together. Underneath the connection part when the wire coming in the keyboard was two little rubber pieces. When I put my keyboard back together my lights would come on my keyboard but my keyboard wouldn't respond when I pressed buttons. It was all because I did not put those two tiny pieces of "rubber" back in to make to connection perferct. You might want to check for something "stupid" like that.
