Touchpad??

I have a toshiba satellite a205 s4577, its running vista and the problem is that the touchpad stopped working all of a sudden. It works fine with an external mouse but i want to fix the touchpad cause the external is a hassle. Any help?? it will be much appreciated.

Re: Touchpad??

Hello mr binary

Welcome to the tech forums!!

i have just fixed two mousepads on two different laptops this month!!!

The only advice that i have for you is to buy a new one.
I know that's not much help but i have gone over this with dell and HP and from my experiences the mousepads magnetic s is out of wack and the only way to fix that is to replace it.

Do you still have your warranty?

Re: Touchpad??

Only other option that you might want to try is updating or rolling back your mousepad driver. (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...rrollback.mspx)

Re: Touchpad??

Thank you for the welcome,
but how did you fix the other two?
Did you just replace them?
And my laptop doesnt have a roll back option it only has update
and uninstall, but it also says the driver is up to date already.

Re: Touchpad??

to roll back a driver go into device manager go to the device right click go to properties then click the driver tab at the top and rollback driver should be in there!
