New Monitor
I'm looking to get a new monitor for my computer. I already have an old dell monitor but I want to be able to have a dual monitor setup. My only thing is I want to be able to watch tv and play video games on my new monitor if that makes sense. My price range is preferably around $300 or less. Thanks in advance if you have any questions just ask.

By the way, how big is your current monitor, widescreen or standard definition

Re: New Monitor
Well, like I said, that's going to cause problems. You can still purchase a bigger standard definition monitor, but you don't see those around much. In other words, don't expect some great prices to appear. Practically all of the specials are for widescreen monitors.

Re: New Monitor
I can't say for certain, but I have a typical monitor and a Sony Bravia 26 HDTV, which I also use a Clone Monitor. The Sony Bravia doesn't have as many resolutions as the monitor.
Some games will reset the resolution to something else which the HDTV can't fully utilize. As a result, it would end up taking about 60% of the screen while the rest of it is blank. I don't know about the ps3 since I don't have one.

Re: New Monitor
Thanks for your help so far so what would you recommend its tough because I use both a lot. I plan on playing ps3 tons when fifa and mag comes out but I still play my fair share of computer games.

Re: New Monitor
Is this second monitor (HDTV) going to be right next to the current monitor as in inches or touching etc? Or is it going to be several feet away from your current monitor? Are you planning on using Clone Monitor or Dual Monitor or something else?
How big of an HDTV were you thinking of?

Re: New Monitor
It wouldnt have to be very big but a nice size would be great and inches away hopefully. And I don't know what clone or dual monitor is I was hoping that when I'm not watching tv or play ps3 I could have it where I can drag stuff from one monitor to the next and then all I have to do is change the imput to watch tv or play ps3.
