VGA Splitting Questions
Ok so I want to hook up my Xbox 360 and my computer to run on the same monitor, I have a 19 inch Emachines flat panel monitor with vga input and also dvi-d input. My copmuter only has vga out and I have the cord for vga out for my xbox so I was wondering if I could use a vga y splitter(something like this (http://tinyurl.com/mjaner)) to go from both to the one monitor or if i'd need a switch box? If I need to get a switch box anyone have any cheap suggestions, preferably under $30, or any other suggestions?
Thanks, Brian |

Re: VGA Splitting Questions
I'm pretty sure it's impossible to run two things on one monitor at the same time (if not I sure would like to see it), so something like a switchbox would be needed. With that however, the monitor will only have one cable running to the switchbox with all of the other devices connecting to the switchbox. The only problem is that I don't know if one exists that takes both VGA and DVI as input. If there is one, then you're good to go. Otherwise, you'll need an adapter.
Glancing at google, they all look relatively cheap (10-20$)
