Scratched DvD.

Hello, Friends i have HP Pavilion PC, I get Litescribe DvD Writer with it
the problem is when i try to play any not much but little scratched video dvd
it hangs the PC. Or when it Play it stuck at the middle.
Same DvD when i play in my dvd player it works fine.
What do i do for it.

Its a litescribe but they didnt mention the brand of writer

Are the DVD's, that it won't play correctly, pre-recorded or burned?
If the discs are burned it's probably a case of the DVDRW not liking the brand of media.
And, as I said in my last post, some optical drives are better readers than others.
