I have a new renconditioned Gateway Notebook MD7820U, my first - have always had Toshibas in the past.
The keyboard is really unresponsive, the keys feel tight and I have to pound down hard and also hit the keys exactly in the center for them to register. Letters jut don't register unless I hit the keys hard and in the center. This has relly impacted the accuracy and speed of my typing, making it a real hassle to type now. My Toshibas and every other modern keyboard I've used has never responded this way - it's like going back to the primitive times. The Techies at the store where I bought it looked at it and said the keyboard is fine, it's just me and my typing. Another techie said there was no way around it, it was a design defect of Gateway's. But the more I use the computer, the more I find I can't bear it. I am considering returning it at a loss of about $250. Is there anyway to make the keys more responsive? Are there an other options? What is really the root of this problem - my typing (never been a problem on any system before)? Or is this a Gateway thing? Please enlighten me so I can return to happy, easy typing. Thank you in advance. |
