Power/Signal Problem
I just recently moved and had secured my tower in a suitcase :x I know, I know-- bad idea. BUT I secured it very well. Now, I am not sure if the xray they have caused some damage, but now i have a signal problem.
I have an HP pavilion a 1423w. I modified it with Ram and a video card. I just brought my mouse and keyboard and left my monitor. My father gave me a monitor to use and once I put it all together it the monitor said 'no signal'. The fans in the computer tower are running and the CD/DVD drives open and close fine. I have taken out the video card and unplugged stuff and then plugged them back in. I don't know if my motherboard is shot or something else is causing this. The monitor is a Vision monitor and I haven't tried another one. Please let me know if any of you have suggestions. I could also take some pictures and post them if needed. Thanks |

Re: Power/Signal Problem
Xrays would very very unlikely have anything to do with it.
It is because your fathers monitor cannot handle the screen setting your system has as a default. You will need to adjust your system to another lower display setting (1024x768 or the like), and everything will be OK then. |

Re: Power/Signal Problem
thanks! I will try and test a new monitor, but I realized the light below the power signal usually goes green and it just turns yellow/orange and then turns off. No sounds are made when my computer is turned on and there also isn't a signal to my keyboard.
