Question about HDMI & Resolutions
I am thinking about getting a 40-50" LCD hdtv to use as a monitor. I have been looking for about 4 days on Newegg, Tigerdirect, Amazon... etc.. and have come down that most good hdtv's have 1920x1080 resolution which I want. My budget is $1300. I know I will have to get a HDMI to DVI connector for it to work. Btw if anyone has any suggestions on 40-50" HDTV's w/ a HDMI input 100% sure to work with my build please let me know, would really appreciate it.
Questions: 1. Since I am using 2x video cards, will I have to use S/PDIF connectors on both cards or just one card? 2. Are all televisions labeled 1080p able to be 1920x1080 when used as a computer monitor? 3. I have narrowed down some specifications I will be looking for (<8ms, 1000+:1 Actual Contrast, 1920x1080, 40-50"), is there anything else I should be very cautious for? I will be using the tv 90% of the time as a gaming monitor, 10% of time as television/console gaming. If anyone can think of anything else that should be needed to know so I do not make a wrong purchase please let me know. My build is: MB: Asus Striker II Formula GPU: 2x Evga Nvidia GTX280 ( SLI Mode ) ( Original not oc'd ) CPU: Intel Quad Core 2.83ghz ( Original not oc'd ) ( Liquid cooled ) CASE: Kandalf LCS PS: Antec 1000w TPQ MEM: 2x 2gb OCZ Reaper 1066mhz SOUND: SupremeFX II HD: 1TB WDC OS: XP Pro 32bit ( Will change to Vista 32bit in about a week ) If anymore specs are needed ask away, computer was self-built. Thanks for any help in advance. -Krazed
