Can I have broadband fax and telephone on one line?

I'm wondering if I can I have broadband fax and telephone on one line and if so what equipment I need?

At the moment I have broadband and telephone on one line and a fax on a seperate line and I'm hoping to reduce costs by eliminating one line. Will a splitter into a DSL filter work or do I have to have something more sophisticated?

Any help appreciated.

Hi, welcome to TSF

You could eliminate the fax line by using Vista's built-in fax program ( instructions), or you could download a third-party program like Essential Fax or EasyFax.

Koala

Many thanks for that. My problem is that I often need to send several copies of documents by fax so a dedicated machine suits the purpose better than having to scan.

I do not see why you cannot use a splitter since it is basically the same as having separate phone outlets in different rooms.. As long as you put the dsl filter on all lines other than the one going into your dsl modem things should work.
