well i was formatting a dvd and accidently closed the format window and restarted now when i click on (my)computer the drive is no longer there. and in Device Manager the Drive isn't there either
so maybe i need to reinstall the driver or something? plz help if you can |

You can no longer access the CD/DVD drive or Code 31 or Code 37

Did you try the manual steps documented here (scroll down the page): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060 ?
If yes and it did not help, try booting from CD/DVD drive using a good/working bootable CD/DVD media. If BIOS cannot see the drive or if computer cannot boot from CD/DVD drive then it is possible that your CD/DVD drive is dead.

Well it depends... AFAIK it should not be the case. If it is 6 months old, then it is possible that it is still under warranty. Have it replaced/repaired under warranty.
