dvd player not working

hey all im new so be nice

iv had my laptop for just under a year and its been working fine untill a few days ago when it stoped player and kind of dvds. it wont even recognise that a disc is in it, please help as all the computer shops near me charge way to much to fix anything

Hello,

Will the drive recognize any disc?

Open Device Manage and uninstall the drive and restart Windows.

Try removing the filters.

Laptop optical drives are generally low quality and don't have a long life. If the suggestions that makinu1der2 don't resolve the problem it's replacement time.
