LCD screen not using full display

Recently I added some RAM to my Dell inspiron 640m laptop, after installation when I boot up the computer, the LCD screen display wont use the whole display panel i.e -the display is smaller than the screen. I run the system diagnostics and it gives me an error code "0321" which on the website tells me to "reseat the LCD display cable". I've taken it apart about 10 times and made sure every cable is in place and secure. I've tried replacing the orginal RAM and the problem still persists! Is there any way to fix this problem? Is it possible I've damaged something whilst installing the RAM?

Thanks for your help

Re: LCD screen not using full display

Did this happen immediately after adding the RAM?
Did you have ALL power off, including removing the Battery, Before you added the RAM?

Re: LCD screen not using full display

Yep everything was fine before adding the RAM; all power was off and the battery was removed.
