Fix broken headphone jack
I have a Dell XPS 600 with a headphone jack in the front that's become impacted through repeated use. I don't know if it's completely broken, but the plastic cover has been pushed in. It's kind of ridiculous that such a small component is broken since my computer, after all the upgrades I've done over the years, cost me about $2500. It's like having a broken cigarette lighter in an expensive BMW for me.
Is it possible to get this problem fixed? Would I have to get the entire apparatus that the headphone jack is attached to replaced? All the other connections on the front panel work fine - the firewire, USB ports, and microphone jack. Thank you, Krattle |

Re: Fix broken headphone jack
The case will have to be opened and the damage assessed. I'd suggest taking it to an authorized Dell shop if it has one of those multi-layer mobo's. A lot of shops won't work on them because they're too difficult.
FYI - I don't know which models have multi-layer and which don't - sorry!
