[SOLVED] No grip between new mouse and mousepad :S
Hello,
I recently replaced my 10 year old cheap optical mouse because it was falling apart (it was a great mouse btw, which is strange coz of the price) with a Razer DeathAdder, and I bought a Razer eXactMat whilst I was there to replace my freebie mousepad which is also falling apart (fabric seperating from the foam) I'm just wondering how long I should expect it to take for me to adjust to having so little grip between my mouse and mouse pad. I find it hard to focus on smaller items, which is very annoying (not to mention that it takes more effort to control the mouse... and more concentration...) I know that it is unrealistic to expect to adjust overnight, and I'm just wondering how long it it likely to be. Regards -StwS |

Re: No grip between new mouse and mousepad :S
Hi,
That is really hard to say. I don't have that combination but when I first got a laser mouse, it was very strange for quite a while (I'm not hedging here, I honestly don't remember when I finally got use to it) but one thing I did was adjust the mouse speed, etc. to make it more like what I was use to. I hope this helps. Paul

Re: No grip between new mouse and mousepad :S
Assuming you've already installed the DeathAdder software, check the mouse control panel. There should be options for changing the DPI Sensitivity and Report Rate settings. Decreasing these will make the mouse feel more controllable.
Also, if there's an option to choose between letting Windows or the mouse software control the speed, go for the mouse software.

Re: No grip between new mouse and mousepad :S
Thanks,
I had already turned the sensitivity down, but now I've turned down the other settings as you suggested and it has indeed made the mouse easier to control. I figure I'll slowly build them back up again as time goes by. On a side note... I experimented with Accelleration for a while, and it seemed to help at first... untill I realised how jerky it was when moving the mouse in a diagonal direction :S Very quirky lol. Regards -StwS P.S. Very comfy mouse and mouse pad :D |
