Mistake Need help with Logitech Quickcam and Vista

My quickcam isn't picking up any sound!!! Mic is working i know that its just a problem with vista. Have tired sorting out by following the steps shown here:

http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/0...windows-vista/

unfortunatly, for some reason, vista won't install the drivers at step 5. Does anyone know which of the dll's i need so i can install them manually?

If not, doesn't anyone know a better way to fix this problem, help needed urgently!

Thanks in advance!!!!

Re: Need help with Logitech Quickcam and Vista

Figure out your Sound Driver then re-install. It's simple. Use AIDA32, then just Google your driver or go to the manufactuers site.

Re: Need help with Logitech Quickcam and Vista

ok iv downloaded AIDA32... but im unsure as to know i figure out if i have the right driver or not. As far as im aware, my pc is up to date driver-wise. So i shouldn't need to update any drivers. How do i check using AIDA though?

Re: Need help with Logitech Quickcam and Vista

im fairly certain this is a problem with compatabilty between my logitec quickcam and vista. Iv read a lot about the problems between the two. I have an up to date version of the standard vista audio driver and there is nothing wrong with my cam. Thats why i uploaded that link to the fixing guide.

As iv tried that but it didn't work properly for me (as already stated) what might i be doing wrong? and is there a better way to fix it, rahter than replaceing audio drivers which work fine (playing music atm, no problem at all).

also might i add that i know it can't be something wrong with the camera because the visual from the camera works fine (something stated that woudl happen in all the threads iv found so far on this subject)

Re: Need help with Logitech Quickcam and Vista

Hello and Welcome to TSF,

Go here for the driver:
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/su...oads/&cl=us,en

Note: try to always stay with the manufacture when installing drivers if at all possible
safer for the pc and you as the user.

Re: Need help with Logitech Quickcam and Vista

ok just like to say thank you to everyone who has helped out so far :) much love! however nothing seems to be working.

I know that it's not "technically compatable" with vista, however, there is a hack (see link in first post in thread) to make it so that you can load the correct drivers into vista which it won't normally do. However, i can't seem to do the hack to make it load the correct drivers, SO i was wondering if anyone could tell me which specific drivers i need from the installer which i have already unpacked (i need file names, not a link to the logitech website) so that i can install the drivers (the .dll files) manually so i can get this thing to work properly.

thanks in advance again!

Re: Need help with Logitech Quickcam and Vista

has anyone actually looked at the link i posted in teh first two parts of this thread? I have got no issue with anything other than what .dll specific files i need to install.

I need to know which file names i should install.. thanks...
