Technical question re USB sticks
Hi all,
I am just wondering what factors affect the rate of data transfer between a USB stick to a computer. I am copying over 1GB files and it is taking abut 12 minutes to transfer. Can I achieve a faster rate of transfer by buying a better brand of USB stick, or could it be my laptop that is the problem? The files I transfer are typically mp3 video files of approx 1GB in size. My USB stick is a bytestor 2GB, and my laptop os a 3 yr old Compaq with AMD Turion 64 processor. Many thanks in advance. Shazad |

Re: Technical question re USB sticks
Hi there,
I am running Windows XP. Although I take the point about Vista as my brother has Vista and it was much slower on that, which is why I thought type of computer might have some impact. Cheers, Shazad |

Re: Technical question re USB sticks
12 min. to transfer 1GB is very slow. I own/have owned a wide variety of brands of USB sticks and I've never had one that transferred that slow.
Can you borrow someone else's USB stick to see if it is your stick or your PC?
