Advice on external monitor
Hello,
I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop with Vista Ultimate and I have a VGA cable that connects it to my Samsung LCD HDTV. I have been able to get the Samsung LCD HDTV to work as an external monitor but when it comes to playing streaming videos, like through YouTube, the playback is choppy and slow. I have tried making the TV as a clone of my desktop and as an extended display, as well as many variations in resolution and refresh rate. Can someone please help me in using the right settings to get the best performance out of my TV as an external monitor? Thanks. The specifications of my TV are here: http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/d...XAA&fullspec=F |

Re: Advice on external monitor
I have a similar situation, so I didn't create another post.
I happen to have a Samsung 40" LCD with PC input. I also have a Dell 1501 Inspiron (lol). I can play dvr-ms files using Windows Media player using the TV as a second monitor by extending the desktop to monitor two. However, I cannot use Media Center to play the files. I get an adapter error, though it will play them on the laptop screen if it is the only monitor. I likewise would appreciate help. I did have a blank black monitor for a while. However, I installed k-pack codecs and Media Player works for me but not Media Center. xp, 2005 Media Center, SP-3, |
