PC To HDTV

Hi, I have a PC running window vista (32bit) and i'm trying to hook it up to my LG HDTV (It's 37" if that means anything important) using my nVidia GeForce 8600GT running at 1gb. It has dvi slots on the back so i am using a dvi to vga convertor to plug it into my TV.
It boots up until it gets to the loading bar and after that the screen goes blank and says "No signal". I know it's still booting because i can hear the log in sound through my headset.
However it does work in safe mode for some reason.

Is there a certain resolution i have to run this at or something?

Any help will be deeply appreciated.

Oh and also it works fine on the monitor i am using at the moment, a would just like to use it on my TV.

Re: PC To HDTV

No, i'm afraid this one isn't mine, mine doesn't have a swivel-stand.
I looked on the back again and it says the model is 37LC46-ZC and they don't appear to have this on their website.
Although the stats seem pretty similar i think
