Whats wrong with my monitor?
I have an LG monitor, its not old, maybe a year or so. I walk into my room today and I hear this loud clicking type sound, I shake my mouse and my monitor doesn't turn on, I hit a few keys, nothing. So I turn my computer all the way off.
I turn it back on and nothing happens. I turn it off and on a few times, nothing. I unplug it and put it in another port but still nothing. I push a few buttons on the monitor and one of them turns the orange light on the monitor blue, like its about to start working. A box comes on that says "Analog (something) Power Save Mode) then it goes blank, and the orange light comes back on. Anyone know what this is about? Like I said this monitor isn't old at all, I can't figure out what the problem is. |

Re: Whats wrong with my monitor?
I found a button that says source, it just turns it on for a sec, says Analog Power Saving Mode then goes away again. I found a spot for another plug in on the back but I don't have the right adaptor to go with it...

I will look again, where is the button on yours? On mine all the buttons are on the bottom and theres nothing that says digital or analog, there is a source button that as I said before, when I push it brings it up for a few seconds, says the Analog Power Saving Mode thing then goes away again.
And dai I am not sure what you are asking heh. Dunno what GPU is. I just plugged the monitor into my laptop, and it works. is there something wrong with my power supply? Ok nevermind I tried a different power supply and it didn't work. And sorry I keep replying heh I cant find where to edit my posts. Last edited by dai; 04-01-2009 at 02:50 AM. |

Re: Whats wrong with my monitor?
the newer chips on the cards are 55nm and draw less power than the older 65nm chip
your psu is sufficient for the 55nm but for the 65nm you need to be up here or better http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...corsair%2b750w

Re: Whats wrong with my monitor?
I will try an adaptor, but I am not sure that would work, I tried not using that adaptor and plugged my monitor into the plug thats on my motherboard, and that didn't work. I can try buying a new cable and adaptor.

Re: Whats wrong with my monitor?
you have to change it over to the onboard for the onboard to work
remove the card plug into the onboard boot into the bios and check the onboard is enabled if you don't get a screen boot into safe mode and load the onboard driver from the m/b setup disk
