Hp scanjet 3500c installed driver but wont work

The Scanner works for shure.....

I have windows vista home prem, 32 bit

I just had to replace my hard drive cuz old one crashed. the scanner worked before but now for some reason it will not work. Before all i had installed was the driver that windows qutomatically installs when you plugged it in. Workded fine. It just wont work?

So have you tried the drivers from hp?
