Monitor, Keyboard, and Mouse Failure
First off, thanks in advance for any help given. Litterally i'm in a state of frustration from my computer.
Okay, so I was scrolling around Internet Explorer last night, when all of a sudden my screen lost signal. It's an acer flat screen LCD. I figure i'd reboot my computer and it'd be fine. So then I do this... still no signal. I look down at my keyboard, it isn't even getting power. Same with my mouse. I opened up my computer, and aside from being EXTREMLY dusty, I didn't see anythign fried or out of place. I clean it, tried it, still no dice. So in short, here's what works and what doesnt. *CPU(Custom built computer) = Gets power *Monitor(Acer Flat screen LCD) = Gets power, no signal. Mouse(Dell optical mouse) = No power Keyboard(Just a plain old Microsoft Keyboard) = No power *Speakers(Dell speakers) = Get power NOTE: Things mark with a * get power from an external cord that plugs into the wall. EDIT: I should mention that I have a second computer. I hooked up my current computer to another monitor and it did not work. I hooked up my monitor to another computer and it did work. Conclusion : Problem is in my computer and not any external peice. Once again, any help is appreciated. -Mike Last edited by Projekt92; 03-29-2009 at 12:42 PM. |

Re: Monitor, Keyboard, and Mouse Failure
What is your power supply? Make and model #.
Maybe swap power supply from your other comp, provided it has enough power and see what happens. In situations like this it helps to know what your system specs are. ![]() Pauldo |
