Monitor blacking out problem
This is a problem of my friends, I'm posting it for her because she doesn't know what to do.
She has a hand built desktop computer, about 4 years old The monitor brand is "KDS" She says every now and then, it randomly blacks out completely. The screen won't return until she flicks the monitor off and then back on. She doesn't know the trigger, and the problem has been getting progressively worse. She already tried messing with the plugs in the back, she said that's not the problem. I also had her try messing with her desktop settings, and screen resolution, to no avail. Can someone help? |

Re: Monitor blacking out problem
Hi, welcome to TSF
Test the KDS monitor on another computer to see if the monitor is faulty. If there are no problems, plug a known-good monitor into your friend's computer to test. If the known-good monitor blacks out, then it's a problem with the computer or monitor cable. If it works with no problems, replace the faulty monitor with a new one.
