Confused Wondering about ram

I just installed 1 gig ram and i have 512 ram i took off... would the computer be slower if i put the 512 ram on with the 1 gig ram...

The reason why i am asking is... someone had told me at walmart...that, it will conflict with the 1 gig ram that i had put on...they said it will be slower... i am not sure...

thank you for the information... more or less they were just trying to take my 512 ram than... cause... they said it would be slower... i appreciate the help....luckly i kept the 512 ram... thanks again....

usually you'll want to buy pair sticks of ram

in DDR2 you'll want to of the same size and specs and brand of ram to keep it fast
