New Monitor for Gaming PC
I've been looking into buying a new LCD monitor for my gaming PC setup for a while now.
Right now I've got a Neovo 19" LCD monitor (1280x1024 max resolution) and an old Optiquest CRT monitor (1024x768 max resolution) hooked up to my PC in a dual monitor setup. I obviously want to replace the CRT and then move my current primary LCD to the secondary monitor. My budget is under $400. Ideally I want to get a good deal and only spend around $250 or so, but $400 is as high as I can go. I want something nice and sharp with good picture, that is of a decent size (22"-24"... something around there) widescreen and has good resolution for modern gaming needs. These are some I'm interested in getting some feedback about: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009125 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236052 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001309 As a side note: I've never owned a widescreen monitor before, and I suppose I've only ever owned the 1 LCD for that matter, so I don't know if this question is stupid or not, but I do occasionally play a few older games that are unlikely to have any support for widescreen resolutions. Let's take Starcraft as an easy, well-known example... Would the game stay in aspect by having black bars on the left and right edges of the screen, or would it stretch and distort to fill out the screen? If anyone knows for sure please let me know. Thanks in advance for any feedback or help.

Re: New Monitor for Gaming PC
*bump*
I hear the Acer I listed is a great monitor, but may have problems with backlight bleeding. The ASUS appears to also be a pretty good monitor, but may have problems with poor color, and defaults to 1920x1080 instead of 1900x1200. The Samsung apparently has problems with dead pixels, and the base is terrible, plus it's the most expensive one. Any personal imput would be appreciated. Right now I'm leaning toward the Acer as my best choice for the money. |

Re: New Monitor for Gaming PC
I may be too late in this post. However, I have been using Samsung's 2253BW for 11 months and I love it!
