3ware co RAID card
Hey
I got an ex-server from a place I used to work. It has two Seagate HDD's, SATA, connected to a RAID card. It was running Centos, but I'm trying to install windows (XP, Vista and 7 are all having the same problem). Originally what was happening was in the setup for windows an error message would come up saying I have no HDD's. I then took out the SATA cables from the raid card and plugged them into the motherboard sata ports instead (so going from HDD to motherboard). I then reset the BIOS to default. In the setup, I am able to see the disks. However, in XP setup, I get an error saying that one or more of the disks are "raw", and in Vista and 7, I get an error also indicating that the disks are raw but in different, more detailed terminology (can't remember off the top of my head). So I'm thinking I need the drivers for the RAID card. I downloaded two cd's worth of drivers, and installed the ones windows said were useful, but it still wouldn't work. So I'm thinking I have the wrong driver. So is there a way to find which 3ware co RAID card I have, so I can install the driver? Thanks. |
