Question [SOLVED] Advent 3309

Hi Guys.

Im looking at a computer for my dad.

An Advent 3309.

not the newest of computers but for he wants, it does him fine.

Windows xp
512mb Ram (ouch!)
Athlon 2100+

The problem is it powers up but nothing comes on the screen.

when i have both dvd drives connected on the bottom drive the disc acess drive is constantly on (no disc in drive)

and also the power light doesnt come on, on the front (even though i know it is on (fans, noise etc, etc,) but every 20 or so goes it does come on.

I have tried disconecting The hdd's + the dvd drives.

I have even resat the ram.

i have also taken out the existing video card and tried the onboard one.

Nothing.

i cant help thinking its the psu. (i have nothing to support this)

is it possible for the psu to be powering up everything but still on its way out?

Any ideas please?

Mark
