I bought a Samsung T220HD in December, which has a built in TV tuner, and I've been having problems when I hook up the DVI cable to my digital cable box. The screen will flicker constantly, even though I can see the tv picture from the cable box clearly in the background. When I use the component cables or the coaxial cables, I have no problems with flickering, but the quality of the picture drops (so ideally I'd want to have DVI).
When I use the monitor with my desktop, hooked up via the same DVI cable, I have no issues at all, whether I'm surfing the net or playing a game. I had a similar problem come up when I first used the monitor with my desktop, but that issue was solved by using the DVI cable provided with the monitor instead of my old one. I'm willing to consider that the digital cable box's DVI-out is somehow faulty, but I don't think that's the case, since I've used the same DVI-out with another monitor and it had no flickering. I tried contacting Samsung online but their low-level tech support's best suggestion was to "change the settings on my TV". Yes, thanks Samsung for that brilliant advice. ![]() Does anyone have any suggestions of what else I could try to either fix or isolate the problem? |
