Computer monitor flashing constantly.
Hi there, I have been having a problem with the screen flashing on my mum's desktop for a while now, but unplugging the power cable for a while did the trick.
Now nothing is stopping it from flashing. When it flashes on I can see the desktop and icons etc. I think it is a problem with the screen because if I unplug the cable from the tower to the screen, but leave the power cable in it still flashes. It is a flat screen, but I am not too sure if it is LCD or Plasma. I'm pretty sure it is LCD. The screen model is a compaq fp5315.The computer is a Compaq Presario sr1128an. I have tried changing the resolution and running VGA mode. It is running Windows Xp with an Nvidia Geforce fx5100 graphics card. Could be over heating because it has only been doing it since summertime here in New Zealand? I have no idea but if anyone has some suggestions please pass them on and if you need more info just ask for it and I'll do my best to find it, bearing in mind I don't really have a working screen so I have to find my way around between the flashes on the screen which are a split second long.
