Gaming Computer
I just got my tax return. I have a total of about 1400 to spend. I need some advice on what to buy when it comes to motherboard, cpu, video card, sound card, so on and so forth. I would appreciate it if any of you exteme gamers out there wouldn't mind helping me out. I am wanting to have a fairly fast gaming computer with some decent power and I am wanting to be able to run games such as HL 2 and Doom 3. Please if you can offer any advice on what to buy and what is hot right now. I appreciate any help. Thank you.

Motherboards. (AMD system either socket 754 or 939) ( It would be better to get a PCI Express board) 1. asus 2. Gigabyte 3. MSI 4. Abit Processors -(an AMD64 system would be better for games and cheaper) amd64 3000+ or higher Sound Cards- Creative Lab Sound Blaster (any series that 24bit) Video cards 2 major Vendors- ATI (anything above 9600 is awesome and DirectX 9 capable) (again PCI Express recommended not required) Nvidia (FX series and Up is awesome i recommend fx 5500 and up) (again PCI Express recommended not required) Power Supply's (400watts+ or more!)- 1.Enermax 2.Antec 3.Pc power & cooling 4.Cooler master. Hard drives- (ide or Sata would be nice.) (also depends on if the board can support SATA) Maxtor Seagate Wester Digital hope this helped out -slick |
