DVD/CD rom wont read cds!

I have emachine w3619 with dual core intel 2160 and 1.5 gig ram. It came with windows vista 32 bit. I have had this less then a year and the cd/dvd rom wont read any disks anymore. I checked device manager the drive is running properly and the drivers are up to date. I uninstalled it and restart, did not make it work. I tried the regedit to delete the filters and the drive still did not work. I have tried cdgone. I tested a couple cd burning softwares recently and swapped a cpu right before it stopped working. Anyone had any trouble with this?

I'm having the same problem. I have done everything you have. It's still not working.
