[SOLVED] Bluetooth Headset issues
Having some major issues with the new bluetooth adapter I purchased a few days ago. Here it is: Rocketfish Bluetooth USB Adapter
It lets me do some very cool things, but I'm having issues with the primary reason I bought it, and that's voice chat. The headset I'm trying to use is the Motorola H500. From the start, it worked beautifully; paired it with the computer and it showed up everywhere it was supposed to. Set it as the default input and output device and volia, voice chat. The problem's consistency. After disconnecting it and reconnecting the next morning, it would no longer register; there wasn't even the normal "Headset is establishing connection" popup that Vista usually gives. Took the bluetooth adapter out and put it back in, re-paired the headset, and everything was fine again. But I still had to do this everytime I wanted to connect my headset. So I went for a fresh install of the software that came with the adapter, and re-paired the headset for what I hoped was one final time. Paired just fine, but now it will not hold a connection with my headset at ALL. When I turn my headset on, it will show Connected for about a second in the Bluetooth Devices window, then immediately drop the connection. The headset no longer appears as a device in the Sound section of Control Panel, or as a Voice device in Xfire, which I use for voice chat. It's like the bluetooth adapter just refuses to recognize it at all. The strange part is, it will recognize and function beautifully with any other bluetooth device I have; my sister's phone, my phone, even my Wii remotes! Just to confirm it wasn't a bad headset, I tried another of the same model that my sister had. Wouldn't work either, so the headsets are fine. So it's the bluetooth adapter...but it's working with every other device I have. So...I'm stumped. ![]() Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm sure I'm just missing something...System specs below, just in case they're useful.
