DVD writer error (halts) while writing dvd's

Hi,

I have a pioneer dvr k-16 in my hp laptop. I have been using it for about 2 and a half years now with no problems at all. I have written many dvd;s using it. Yesterday i wrote about 5 dvd's with my writer and then while writing the last one, a error saying "burn process failed!" came (I use Nero, for a long time with no problems). Then i switched off my laptop and then tried writing the another dvd some 12 hours later. And the same error comes after around 40 percent of burn is completed. (I tried using another dvd and then the same error came, in all 3 dvd's in a line gave error while writing) I checked and the drive is perfectly reading DVD;s and CD;s, even badly scratched ones!

Has my writer konked off, coz of writing many dvd's in a line? Shud i just keep it off for sometime and then try again? Kindly help, as I dunno what to do. I will greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

im no expert but i used to have that problem as well. and most of the time it was cause of what i was burning off and not the dvd burner. have you tried to burn something else off to see if it is working still.
also i used to use nero as well but now i use minidvd it seems faster and works better for me.
