I am a little confused about this. I am trying to help my mom out with her computer and i cant seem to figure out what this thing is doing. I figured out everything else but one or two things. The power button on her e-machine computer is blinking as well as the processor button is staying solidly on. Note: the computer is off so i am not sure what its doing. This is the only thing about a computer i dont know whats going on with.
Also im not sure as to where this question should be posted so anyways here it is. If someone can help me then its all good. |

Re: Strange Blinking problem [ power button ]
the processor button?
is it vista? if it is vista it might be that it actually goes into sleep mode instead of shutting down you can change it in the power saving settings

Re: Strange Blinking problem [ power button ]
Its not custom built, its factory built and im not sure about the motherboard in it. Also it is not on when it is blinking. I tried something new, i unplugged it and it still blinks
so i dont know what is going on with it. Nothing else is messed with, all its used for is checking email, and playing Delta Force xtreme from time to time. The power settings are on its origional settings and i have opened the case. There is nothing wrong with the inside that i know of. Still it blinks even when the power is not plugged in.

Re: Strange Blinking problem [ power button ]
I had a brain dead moment from the time i went to bed up till i got up and looked at the forum. I forgot that the E-machine computers have a feature that lets you know when the cmos battery gets to the point of dying and then it blinks. Sorry for this guys i fixed the problem. It was the cmos battery thats all. Thanks for the suggestions and i did try all of those suggestions and it clicked as i put the psu back in. Thanks guys, and have a Merry Christmas and may talk to ya some other time.
