Hi,
I'm really confused and need advice. I was playing a game last night and my mouse stopped working (computer had requirements for the game). Went into BIOS and switched from "auto" to "ENABLED". That got rid of my problem for a couple of minutes but then both PS/2 ports went off (mouse and keyboard). Went into BIOS and selected "loas setup defaults" which didnt arrange the problem. From reading on internet ..i did a hardware detection test online which showed both my PS/2 ports. Also in BIOS my keyboard was working fine. When Windows starts up..it diseapered. I have two HD on my computer ..first one with XP Pro and second ont with Vista..and on both I had the problem.(in device manager..the PS/2 port for mouse doesn't even show up and PS/2 keyboard port shows up and says working fine..but it doesn't) After that, again from reading on internet..i did a SeaTool for Dos test ..which showed both my HD in the result...and after rebooting...everything is working fine. The reason I'm asking for advice..is I don't see how that test could have arranged things..so I,m afraid everything will go out again..and want to know what to do if that happens. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. Last edited by makyla; 12-22-2008 at 11:58 AM. |

Re: PS/2 port (mouse & keyboard) works sporadicly..help please
Ok it does it again..I went back playing my game..and it froze again..rebooted manually (pressing off button) and my mouse is still out but my keyboard is working.
Can a game cause that? Or is it something else. My usual tech is coming back only on the 2nd of January and i don,t want to wait till then to fix my problem..so any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |
