What would make my computer faster?
Hey there, I always seem to have trouble with speed on this computer (Dell), whenever I open the internet or start a program, it always works so slowly. Heres my question: Just what type of hardware can I get or switchout that can make my PC go faster?

Re: What would make my computer faster?
4GB of ram is enough for that system, and I don't know any other hardware you can change to make it run faster.
Please check the following,,,,,,,, Inside the case is free of dust especially the cpu's heatsink. There are not to many uneeded things in the startup tab in msconfig. The computer is virus and spyware clean You recently ran disk cleanup and defrag |

Re: What would make my computer faster?
It might not be a hardware problem. It could be programs/services running in the background, realtime security scans, lack of free hard drive space, fragmented hard drive, too many programs running at once, spyware, etc.
Do you have Norton installed? This article gives some good advice for speeding up your computer. Is your PC running slow...?

Try out www.pcsurgeon.synthesite.com its was only $9.99 and came with Anti Virus, Spyware and a hard disk defragger. Also came with a
tutorial that included tips and tricks to keep your computer fast, healthy and up to date. I was pretty impressed. This is all you really need to clean your computer of any viruses and spyware and keep it protected and running like its brand new.

Re: What would make my computer faster?
I usualy go to pcpitstop.com and do the full system scan. Ive been using this for years and have had no issues.
I dont buy anything recomended but the site does show you how to manualy fix the issues found. pcpitstop.com is totaly free. Last edited by Nickledimed; 01-09-2009 at 10:17 AM. Reason: forgot something |
