Multiplying PCI\Vens, none with drivers
It started with a missing driver for what was identified as a "multimedis controller" in the error message. The ID# came up as:
PCI\VEN_11DB&DEL_BEDE&SUBSYS_00221BD&REV_00\3&61AAA01&1&48 It required closing the "Intall New Hardware" wizard once each bootup. Now the wizard pops up six or seven times for the following ids: PCI\VEN_2008&DEV_0080&SUBSYS_0080200C&REV_OC\3&61AAA01&1&50 PCI\VEN_2008&DEV_0080&SUBSYS_0080200C&REV_OC\3&61AAA01&1&51 PCI\VEN_2008&DEV_0080&SUBSYS_0080200C&REV_OC\3&61AAA01&1&52 PCI\VEN_2008&DEV_0080&SUBSYS_0080200C&REV_OC\3&61AAA01&1&53 PCI\VEN_2008&DEV_0080&SUBSYS_0080200C&REV_OC\3&61AAA01&1&55 PCI\VEN_2008&DEV_0080&SUBSYS_0080200C&REV_OC\3&61AAA01&1&56 PCI\VEN_2008&DEV_0080&SUBSYS_0080200C&REV_OC\3&61AAA01&1&57 PCI\VEN_2008&DEV_0080&SUBSYS_0080200C&REV_OC\3&61AAA01&1&54 What's happening? What should I do? McAffee detects no virus.

Re: Multiplying PCI\Vens, none with drivers
Sorry for the delay: my SO tried to tackle the problem - no results
Yes, that's how I got the Id numbers. There are currently eight with ending numbers 50 thru 57 The yellow Question mark is under 'Other.'

Re: Multiplying PCI\Vens, none with drivers
A Compaq Presario with AMD Athlon XP 2400 2.00 ghz, 768 mb ram (yeah, prettty old).
My problem has morphed: I pulled out a cd drive that wasn't working and replaced it. The PCI event stopped, but now I only have one functioning cd drive - the new one, although the old drive wasn't touched - and a yellow flag on the USB receiver. I haven't done this before, but doesn't that mean there is a resource sharing problem? Any suggestions would help.

Re: Multiplying PCI\Vens, none with drivers
Ide drive right?
The old drive had the jumpers set to either master or slave check to little picture near the jumpers by the power and data connections and jumper the new drive the same way. do that first then see if the usb problem goes away. |
