right driver can't install tv card
i have win xp and i uninstalled a old tv card and installed a new one with nicer software. the problem is windows keeps putting the old driver in for the new card and it won't work. i get no errors or anything like that but the software for either card says no device. i uninstalled everything that has to do with the old card and still windows will only put in the old drivers. i got the new disk and the directions say let windows find the new device which i do and same old song. i tryed searching before i posted but the search just kept going for at a half hour so i gave up. thanks any help would be greatly appreciated. john

Re: right driver can't install tv card
how about telling the Wizrd that you will choose the driver yourself from a list, select "I have a disk" and take the drivers from the installation media ..
The software that you might be looking for could be GUI .. so either install software before installing card .. remove old drivers when the card has been removed

Re: right driver can't install tv card
Are you allowed to insist, I mean force it .. I remember that those old TV cards were a pain in the butt when it came to installation .. and most times they refused to install in XP when they had been working fine in 98 & Millenium .. once installed you may be able to downgrade to 98 compatability
