HI,
I got pentium celron 700mhz pc KOB 810 dmst motherboard 256 sd ram Windows Xp My mother board got 3 pci Slots I bought 1 pci usb card (4+1 port) no other hardware installed in pci slots .. PROBLEM: If i install pci usb card into first and 3rd pci slot my xp will hang during boot time... (windows bootup screen stage ) and i will never get logon page if i install card in 2nd pci slot .. it will pass bootup screen,logon screen it will show desktop ,it will detect card and it will search for driver and then .. it will hang.. :( is it coz of my old mother board? is there any speed issue with new pci device and old motherboards? Thanks Happy |

Hello ,
yes this could be the issue but it could be because you need more memory /ram Xp requires 256 mb to work properly for its self so when you start adding devices / during the install it robs the system of memory/ram result : system hangs but yes / your mobo is just 1.0 speeds for usb & if you install a 2.0 in it it would cause a conflict cause : age & windows does have drivers for 2.0 so it might be trying to install those default / generic drivers to the mobo

So that means No solution for this :( ,, i have to change mobo .. Any 1 wan to buy my PCI USB card [:)] just kidding .. ill keep it for my new PC .. will upgrade my sytem soon
