Mouse/Keyboard not working

Hi Everyone, i am fairly new here.

Anyways, i seem to be in a huge dilemma.

Just last week my computer was infected my "Antivirus2009" trojan. Fortunately, my Nortonvirus Endpoint and Spyware Blaster helped get rid of such virus from my computer. The downside was, i was unable to access my computers: "CD-R and DVD-R" drive. Somehow they were not there.

Anyways, one of my friends helped me by suggesting i go into "startup", "run" and then "regit" (or whatever its called). They asked me to go into folder "{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}" and deleted "UpperFilters, LowerFilters, UpperFilters.bak, and LowerFilters.bak", but didn't tell me which particular folder, which i deleted.

But NOW I have a bigger problem: When i restarted my computer, my CD-R and DVD-R was back to normal but i couldn't get my mouse or keyboard to work. I even disconnected/reconnected my back wires and still nothing. Everything seems to be running completely normal on my desktop, but again, i can't do anything with my mouse or keyboard. Its like they both are disabled.

I believe this happened when I went into 10-14 folders with this similar name---> "{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}" and deleted "UpperFilters, LowerFilters, UpperFilters.bak, and LowerFilters.bak". I wasn't sure which folder to go into so i went into all and deleted "upperfilters, etc."

I don't know what to do and i am even more lost. Is there a way i can reverse this or enable both of them to work properly?

I am not a computer person and i believe i ruined my computer now. LOL!

Please, please help!

Re: Mouse/Keyboard not working

cmos reset
turn the computer off
remove the power lead from the back
take the side off
remove the cmos battery
move the cmos jumper from pins 1 and 2 to pin 2 and 3 and the back to pins 1 and 2
reinsert the battery
put the side on
replug in the power lead
boot the computer

there can be 2 solder points you touch with a screwdriver
2 pins you touch with a screwdriver or use a jumper
a cmos clear switch or button
there will be a diagram and instructions in your manual

Re: Mouse/Keyboard not working

you are not going to be even close to dismantling anything
just print off the instructions and take your time following them
